About Subtext Society

Psychoanalytic life is alive and almost impossible to keep up with. Lectures, workshops, reading groups, public talks, conferences happen constantly, across many organizations. Events get announced on listservs, buried in institute newsletters, and shared in professional circles that not everyone can access. If you're not already plugged into the right networks, you miss things. Interesting things.

I got tired of missing the interesting things.

Subtext Society is an independent digest of upcoming psychoanalytic and psychotherapy events. I track what's coming up, write a bit, and send out a newsletter once a month to people who want to stay connected to the field without spending hours staying up to speed.

The events cover a wide range of theoretical orientations: relational, Kleinian, Lacanian, self psychological, interpersonal, contemporary Freudian, Gestalt, and more. In-person and online. Free and paid. Local and international.

These events are for the curious. Some people are therapists in training, trying to deepen their thinking while accumulating hours. Some are seasoned analysts who want to stay in the conversation. Some are academics, some are researchers, and some are people who have never set foot in a consulting room but find themselves interested in our interior worlds. All are welcome.

Subtext Society is not affiliated with any institute, society, or theoretical orientation. It's an independent project, run by someone who wanted this resource to exist and decided to build it.
